I wanted to do something based on what would happen if Ring of Fired’s events stayed as they were and thus were responsible for some sort of dystopian alternate robot future.
The mercs would get captured and frozen in time with technological bullshit or the like - Spy, thanks to the Dead Ringer, manages to escape and hide himself, deciding that it’s not enough for him and that he’ll need an apprentice to help him out. Enter a boy who would grow up to become known as The Bedtime Story Slayer, who rises up to take down the most powerful Mann in the world - a woman.
tl;dr: excuse to make older Olivia and Jack concepts
I stared at this for about 5 minutes, and I realized HOW MUCH I WANT THIS TO BE A THING, HOLY COW
OH MY GOD THIS IS FANTASTIC. If you need a writer, uberchain, sign me up!!
Yo, for real, if anybody wants to do fanart, fanfic, or fanstuffs based off this thing (or really anything I make), go right on ahead, I’m honoured! Show me when you’re done! (I would myself but I just don’t have the time right now to devote to so many things at once. D:)
Okay uberchain, how does this sound for a pitch?
Old Nick was Jack’s first ‘victim’, but he wasn’t the last. That icicle that Spy gave him - now imbued with Old Nick’s deadly power of winter coldness - was next turned on the monster under his bed. Then the one in the closet.
When Spy snuck in through his bedroom window, seeking out the boy with a cold and murderous gleam in his baby-blue eyes, he found that same weapon pressed to his jugular vein. He hadn’t even seen the boy move. He hadn’t recognized the decoy in the bed made of blankets and stuffed animals. Jack had expected him - yes, he was most definitely the one.
Jack’s parents didn’t think too much of it when he started spending more and more time with his ‘imaginary friend’. But as the years passed he only grew bolder, more deadly, his skills sharpened through practice. Countless fairytale creatures fell to the Bedtime Story Killer. He practiced. He bided his time. He gathered an arsenal of captured fairies, enchanted swords and more. The Easter Bunny (a la vs. Saxton Hale/Freak Fortress) was his next high-profile target; kids woke up on Easter morning to find no exploding eggs waiting in their backyards and parks to maim them.
He went from a rumor whispered in the schoolyard to a national hero overnight. And as by this time, Olivia Mann had unfurled her plans for world domination… he was ready for her. And she, too, for him.
